Wataniya Telecom Algérie (WTA), the first mobile multimedia operator in Algeria, has won it's licence to provide nationwide mobile telephone services the 2nd of december 2003, trough a winning 421 million US$ bid. The 25th of august 2004, WTA launched it's commercial brand Nedjma, introducing new standards in the Algerian telecoms market place. GIC has a share capital of 20% in Wataniya Telecom Algeria.
