Jubail Water and Electricity Co. "JWAP" (the Marafiq Jubail IWPP): This $3.5 billion transaction will supply water and power to the Jubail Industrial City. When commissioned, the plant will be the largest power and desalination plants in the world. With gas as fuel, the plant will utilize combined cycle power plant technology with multi effect desalination.

A giant dual-purpose Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) was established in Jubail at a cost of SR11 billion. The Jubail plant is the second largest IWPP in the Kingdom. The new IWPP, to be established in Jubail Industrial City by 2009, will supply 2,700MW electricity and 800,000 cubic meters of desalinated water daily. Designed according to advanced technical standards. GIC has a share capital of 20% in this company.
