Al-WAKRA and Al-WUKAIR
Al Wakra Water Contracting Company (“AlWakra”) is an independent Sewage Water Treatment Project (“ISWTP”)

Located in the State of Qatar that is developed on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis and under a 25-year off-take agreement. The plant has a treatment capacity of 150,000 m3/day together with associated facilities. The Project expects to achieve a commercial operation date in 2026. GIC owns 25% in the company. In addition, GIC will own 16.5% of the operation & maintenance company that will operate AlWakra plant.

JUBAIL WATER AND POWER
Jubail Water and Power (JWAP) is the world’s largest Independent Water & Power Project (IWPP)

located in Saudi Arabia that was developed on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis and under a 25-year off-take agreement. The plant has power capacity of 2,750MW and water capacity of 800,000 m3/day (176 MIGD). The project achieved commercial operation status in 2010. GIC owns 20% of the company.

AL-DUR POWER AND WATER COMPANY
Al-Dur Power and Water Company (ADPWC) is the largest Independent Water & Power Project (IWPP)

located in Bahrain that was developed on a Build-Operate-Own (BOO) basis and under a 25-year off-take agreement. The plant has power capacity of 1,240MW and water capacity of 218,000 m3/day (49 MIGD). The project achieved commercial operations status in 2012. GIC owns 25% of the company.

SHUQAIQ WATER & ELECTRICITY COMPANY

Shuqaiq International Water & Electricity Company (SQWEC) is an Independent Water & Power Project (IWPP)

located in Saudi Arabia that was developed on a Build-Operate-Own (BOO) basis and under a 20-year off-take agreement. The plant has power capacity of 950MW and water capacity of 212,000 m3/day (47 MIGD). The project achieved commercial operation status in 2011. GIC owns 20% of the company.

 

AL-EZZEL POWER COMPANY

Al-Ezzel Power Company (AEPC) is the first Independent Power Project (IPP) located in Bahrain

that was developed on a Build-Operate-Own (BOO) basis and under a 20-year off-take agreement. The plant has a power capacity of 950MW and achieved commercial operation status in 2007. GIC owns 45% of the company.

RAS LAFFAN POWER COMPANY

Ras Laffan Power Company (RLPC) is an Independent Power Project (IPP) located in Qatar

that was developed on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis and under a 25 year off-take agreement. The plant has a power capacity of 750MW and a water capacity of 181,000 m3/day and achieved commercial operation status in 2004. GIC owns 10% of the company.

 

SHAMS AD-DHAHIRA GENERATING COMPANY

Shams Ad-Dhahira Generating Company is the first Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Project (IPP)

in the Sultanate of Oman that will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis and under a 15-year off-take agreement. The plant will generate a power capacity of 500MW. The plant achieved commercial operation status in 2021. GIC owns 40% of company.

BAHRAIN LNG

Bahrain LNG is the first Liquefied National Gas (LNG) facility located in Bahrain that has been developed

on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis and under a 20-year off-take agreement. With a capacity of 800 million cubic feet per day, the project achieved commercial operation status in 2020. Gulf Investment Corporation owns 24% of the company.

JAZLAH WATER DESALINATION COMPANY

Jazlah Water Desalination Company owns Jubail 3A, which is set to be one of KSA’s largest Independent Water Project (IWP)

that is being developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis and under a 25-year off-take agreement. The plant will have a peak water capacity of 600,000 m3/day. The project is set to achieve commercial operation status in Q4 2022. GIC owns 40% of the company.

Shuaa Energy 3

Shuaa Energy 3 owns DEWA V, which is the fifth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
The plant will produce 900MW using PV technology to be developed under a 25-year BOO basis. Phase one of the project was completed and operational in July 2021, with total completion expected in 2023. GIC owns 16% of the project
